Dear Freshmen,

Welcome to NDHU, a comprehensive university with faculty and administrators dedicated to providing students with quality education.  Here at Language Center, currently made up of 16 full-time and 2 part-time teachers, plus two capable and friendly administrative assistants, together we have been exerting our efforts to help our students experience the joy and eye-opening thrills of learning English.  Besides well-designed courses tailored to meet and raise your level of competence, we also organize various kinds of competitions, workshops, and lectures to help enhance your learning momentum.  Do visit our website regularly to get informed of significant events sponsored by us to bring accolades, insights, and delights to your English acquisition.  During lunch hours, at the patio next to Language Center, there will be activities such as “English Corner,” “Lunchtime Chats,” “Poetry Reading” etc. supervised by our teachers.  Please bring your lunchbox to join the activities you feel interested in and have a lot of fun.  For those who have urgent need to improve their English writing, we offer one-to-one tutorial help at our “Writing Clinic.”  If you have superb English writing skill and would like to serve as a student tutor, you are encouraged to submit your application.  For the detailed information about the operation and service available at “Writing Clinic”, please click here.  A recent issue of Time carried a report about the advantages of having developed a bilingual brain.  Besides keen awareness of cultural differences, the best benefit is to enhance mental vigor and prevent amnesia.  We wish to work together with you during your college years to make your English acquisition a lifelong enriching journey.  From chrysalis to butterfly!—we’ll witness your fabulous growth here at innervating Dong Hwa.
